About Trevor
Trevor Richards is a “right-handed” Major League Baseball pitcher for the Miami Marlins. Trevor is partnering with the Blechman Foundation in this year’s “Strikeout PD!” Challenge to raise funds for and community awareness of PD research. Individuals and companies can pledge money for every strikeout by Trevor in April, which is National Parkinson’s Awareness Month.
Trevor is from Aviston, Illinois. He played baseball in college at Drury where he tallied a total of 230 career strikeouts, which were second most in the program’s history at the time of his graduation. In 2016, the Miami Marlins organization signed him to a minor league contract. His professional career began with the Batavia Muckdogs and Greensboro Grasshoppers where he pitched a total of 53.4 innings and tallied 53 strikeouts. Trevor climbed the ladder through the Minor Leagues, and the Marlins eventually called him up to the “Big Leagues” on April 2, 2018. In his first season Trevor’s record was 4-9 with a total of 126.1 innings pitched with 130 strikeouts.
