About the Nashville Sounds

The Nashville Sounds are partnering with the Blechman Foundation in this year’s “Strikeout PD!” Challenge to raise funds for and community awareness of PD research. Individuals and companies can pledge money for every strikeout by the Nashville Sounds pitching staff  in June.

The Sounds are located in Nashville, TN and are the Triple-A minor league affiliate for the Milwaukee Brewers playing in the Triple-A East league. The organization is named after Nashville’s close ties to the music industry and are the oldest active professional sports organization in Nashville. The team started as an expansion team of the Double-A Southern League in 1978. They’ve won their share of titles including six consecutive titles from 1979 – 1986 and won the Southern League Championship two times – once in 1979 as the Double-A affiliate for the Cincinnati Reds and again in 1982 as the Double-A affiliate for the New York Yankees. Since 1998, the team has won five division titles, two conference titles, and one league championship.
